A Vertebral Subluxation is an area of altered spinal alignment that disrupts the flow of nerve impulses diminishing the ability of your body to stay healthy.
Instead of just treating your symptoms, your chiropractor is primarily interested in detecting, correcting and preventing Vertebral Subluxations.
Vertebral Subluxations are surprisingly common in their occurence and often result due to an imposed stress on the body. Such stress can be in the form of Physical, Chemical or Emotional stress.
such as injuries, accidents, falls, poor posture, occupational overuse and birth trauma.
exposure to toxins and chemicals, poor dietary choice, cigarettes and medications.
such as mental, financial, work, relationships, social and marital issues.
When one or more vertebrae lose their normal position and/or motion, they can interfere with the normal function of the nervous system. This interference can occur as pressure or irritation on the spinal cord, or on the nerve roots as they pass out of the spinal column. Chiropractors refer to this nerve interference as a Vertebral Subluxation – “vertebral” meaning relating to bones of the spine and “subluxation” meaning the improper motion or position of the vertebra.
