Stapleton Chiropractic care begins with an initial history and examination, after which x-rays may be recommended to completely evaluate your condition.
On your second visit, known as The Report of Findings, one of our chiropractors will discuss factors contributing to your condition and may recommended a care plan if indicated. Alternatively, they may provide alternative treatment options to you based upon on your presentation and goals to help achieve the best outcome(s) possible.
Your PAIN and/or SYMPTOMS are often the last phase of a problem to present (tip of the iceberg) and is usually an indicator for something else that’s going on. Pain and symptoms can very often be just a small part of the overall picture of your problems.
To correct and treat your problems properly, we often need to detect and correct the underlying causes of your pain and symptons (base of the iceberg).
This is achieved through the implementation of a smart care strategy that is based upon your unique presentation (history, examination & x-ray findings) and designed with your unique health goals in mind (get out of pain, get back into sports and hobbies, live fully, etc.).
Many of the conditions for which people seek chiropractic care have developed over many years and therefore, it takes time and perseverance to correct these conditions.
The time required is usually proportional to the type, severity and duration of the condition(s) involved.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!
The first phase of care is referred to as Relief or Acute Care. This phase is designed to eliminate or reduce the majority of your discomfort and begin stabilisation of your condition. During this phase of care your visits will be more frequent, with each adjustment building on the one before.
The objective of Rehabilitative Care is to correct any underlying spinal injury as well as strengthen muscles, improve spinal function and allow for the continued healing of your tissues and organ systems. Your visits will reduce in frequency and your care is supplemented by additional strengthening exercises and postural re-education if required.
This phase of care helps to maintain your improved health and spinal function, and prevent the return of the original condition. Preventative care can help address issues as they arise by ‘nipping them in the bud’ before they become more serious.
Wellness care, consisting of a sensible plan of chiropractic adjustments, exercise, a sensible diet and positive mental outlook will help you enjoy the best of health, well into the future. Age into wellness, not sickness!
